The Feelin’ Alive project: A collaboration between 5 European partners to support youth voices and wellbeing initiatives

Picture a cozy room filled with conversation and laughter. Here, a group of young individuals from various corners of Europe have come together to share experiences and enjoy quality time in each other’s company. They come from different backgrounds, speak different languages, and have unique stories to tell. They are experts in their own lives and have lived and learned through experiences that have supported or challenged their mental wellbeing.

Yet, here they are, united by a common wish of our European partner organisations to initiate ideas and activities to support the wellbeing of other young people in their communities. This is the essence of the Feelin’ Alive project, a partnership that aims to amplify the voices of young people and celebrate the diverse perspectives that European youth bring with them.

These unique voices bring attention to our shared European challenges and the urgent need for connection and collaboration that go beyond borders.

Who are these young voices?

We meet a 24-year-old student balancing her studies with a part-time job. The relentless chase for productivity often leaves her feeling overwhelmed. Through Feelin’ Alive, she finds a platform where she can share her experiences and connect with others who feel the same pressures. She discovers that her story resonates with young people across Europe, and now the idea is lit in her mind: What if we come together to explore healthier approaches to productivity that prioritise wellbeing over burnout, to inspire the next generations of young Europeans through our own discoveries?

A 21-year-old aspiring artist joins the cause. He wants to support the idea and share his own experiences. Despite his active social media presence, he often feels the downturn of loneliness. Through the Feelin’ Alive podcast, he learns about the benefits of community and the impact it has had on the loneliness feelings of young people from similar voices in France, Denmark, Croatia, Lithuania, and Portugal. All because of the honesty and work put into the podcast series by the young creators to foster genuine human connections that transcend boundaries, whether national or digital.

A 25-year-old from Denmark has faced her share of mental health challenges. Her journey towards mental thriving has been filled with ups and downs, but through Feelin’ Alive, she finds strength in solidarity. The project highlights mental health stories from young individuals like her, and all of a sudden her voice becomes a beacon of hope amongst them, emphasising the importance of seeking help and utilising mental health resources that truly cater to the diverse needs of Europe’s youth. She finds a platform for sharing resources that worked for her, and her engagement in taking action helps other young people become change agents in their own lives.

Now, come back and join us in the cozy room.

Imagine putting on a headset to listen to the stories of these young individuals. The Feelin’ Alive project aims to bridge gaps and connect these young people across Europe, making their sparks of excitement and engagement fly across the room as their diverse voices come alive in our podcast series and create resonance, hope, and initiative. Each episode is raw, real, and resonant, allowing listeners to tap into the heartbeat of youth experiences from different perspectives.

Introducing the Feelin’ Alive podcast series, we’re taking action in our mission to give young people a platform where their voices resonate authentically, their strengths and struggles are acknowledged, and their wellbeing achievements are celebrated. We bring together young creators and engage our European partners to support and nurture a culture that values productivity balanced with wellbeing, community that combats loneliness, and resources that support youth mental health.

Because when young people thrive, youth engagement comes alive.

Support the Feelin’ Alive project

Feelin’ Alive is a 2-year collaboration between our European partners to develop and host a series of podcast episodes and Week of Wellbeing events across Europe, bringing young people from various European countries together by inviting them to engage in workshops, accessing mental health resources, and participating in open dialogues through our open forum events and podcast series. These events turn awareness into action, creating environments where young individuals can initiate conversations and actions that help them thrive together.

So, how about getting involved?

Because of course you should! The Feelin’ Alive project is an open invitation for you to join our podcast and events, to share your experiences, and to listen to young people. Whether you tune into the podcast, participate in our Weeks of Wellbeing activities across Europe, or share your story, we will make a difference together by promoting and supporting youth mental health.
